The other afternoon i was in the hunt for anything to help me out of my blackjack slump. So i ordered this book on Amazon. I was looking for something in the mode of Blackjack For Dummies, which does not exist by the way. Instead I found a few other books that would suit just as well. I actually ordered them which is something I normally resist. Reading offline about Blackjack. But at this point my losing streak is deep so I need to find some new strategies to get out of this slump.
Here is one of the titles I was looking at:
Blackjack Blueprint, this book seems to educate you on strategies that the pros employ. But at a part time learning curve.
I went ahead and ordered this one. Will review it here in the weeks to come to give you a better idea of if I am going to be able to pull out of this losing streak.
Atleast my Denver Broncos won today! A bright spot in my gambling world.

PokerNews has a great article on Ten Reasons To Play Blackjack Online: I personally have started to play too much online blackjack. I wholeheartedly agree with all of the points in the article with the exception of the Single Deck giving the advantage to the casino. I personally think blackjack is not all about counting, and following the deck but has more to do with personal luck and knowing when to hold. Something of which I have never fully master.
1. Playing Blackjack Online allows you to play with a single deck, an option live casinos rarely offer. This is because the edge of the casino is almost nullified with a single deck, so you increase your chances of taking home more winnings. Mansion Casino is an example of where you can play single-deck Blackjack.
2. Online Casinos offer better pay-out rates of 3:2 as opposed to 6:5 in some live casinos on average. Not only that, but some Online Casinos such as PartyCasino offer special promotions where Blackjack is payed out at a rate of 2:1, letting you win even more!
3. Blackjack games at Online Casinos are played out much faster than regular games at live Casinos. For instance, at a regular casino on a full table, you may be lucky to play 25 hands in an hour. At Vegas Red Casino you should be able to play 100 hands an hour, letting you play up to four times as many hands in the same amount of time!
4. You don’t have to worry about travel, being able to play at your favourite Online Casino in the luxury of your own home.
5. Online Casinos always have a table free, allowing you to sit down and start playing Blackjack immediately.
6. There is more variety with playing limits, with Online Casinos like 32Vegas Casino offering a minimum bet of just $1, unlike most land-based casinos which have minimum bets of $5 or even higher.
7. There is no point in card-counting or shuffle-tracking online, so you can focus on the basic strategy that will win you the most money.
8. Playing online allows you to avoid the criticism and insults of other players.
9. With 24/7 access to Online Casinos such as Bodog Casino, you don’t have to wait for them to open and you can gamble 24/7/365 unlike some land-based casinos which close for public holidays.
10. There are hundreds of sign-up bonuses to choose from, such as InterCasino which offers a 100% up to $90 Welcome Bonus for Blackjack.

The Daily Herald offers some tips on what to look for in a bad blackjack game. I personally jump in regardless of whether one person thinks its good or bad. I always rely on my gut feeling rather than anything else.
The first and most common factor these days is what does the dealer do on soft 17? She might have to hit, or she might have to stand. If she stands, that’s better for the player by a considerable, but not an enormous, amount. You can still play in “hit-soft-17″ games if you’re a solid player and other factors are good. But it would be worth playing at 30-40% higher stakes to get into a “stand-soft-17″ game, if one’s available where you’re playing.
By far, the most damaging rule you need to get away from is the “6-to-5 blackjack payoff.” This was the clever brainchild of some casino sharpies who figured they’d bring back single-deck blackjack to attract the players. So what’s the big deal if a $15 blackjack pays only $18 instead of $22.50? It’s still single deck. It’s gotta’ be a great game - right? Wrong! Most regular players have no idea how much this cripples their chances to win at the game. Let me spell it out for you.

Ive had to completely change the way i research this topic as well as other gambling topics as i increase my posting rate it becomes clear there is no real authorities when it comes to niche topics like blackjack it appears even the major authorities dont know how to run a high quality informational site not filled with affiliate ads and what not.

One of the more popular techniques that is popular is card counting in blackjack. It however like anything else is gambling is a skill that must be learned, practiced, practiced again and again until you are a jedi master.
Over on Casino Smack they have a great introductory paragraph on the art of card counting.

The premise behind card-counting is that a player is going to keep a record of the cards that have been used in the game. This way, it’ll be easier for you to know if the cards will be in your favor or not, thus betting would be easier. Although this card-counting technique is easy to learn, it is still not easy to master without you going through some losing streaks along the way as you get a handle on the technique. If you just completely depend on card-counting, then winning lots of money in blackjack may not be that easy.
The downsides of card counting is its not always a win win win situation. It has a lot of factors. Including luck. I mean it is gambling. So remember not to just rely on one technique but to master a variety of techniques and always go with what works for you consistently. What works for one player may not work for another.
Good luck.
